The Ninth Youth Delphic Games of the CIS Member States took place in Volgograd, the Russian Federation on May 2-7, 2014 and were held within the framework of the First Open Youth European Delphic Games that gathered 721 young artists from 10 to 25 years old and about 100 eminent jury members from 26 countries. CIS countries were represented by delegations of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and also Independent Delphic Participant.
The Games of the Commonwealth were held in accordance with the decisions of the Council of Heads of Governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States from May 19, 2011 on the Main Activities of cooperation of the CIS Member States in the field of Culture until 2015 and from November 20, 2013 on the Plan of Activities to 2014-2015 years for implement the Strategy of international youth cooperation of the CIS Member States until 2020 as well as on the basis of results of the consultations with the leaders of the Delphic organizations of the CIS countries took place from April 29 to May 2, 2014 and the Resolution of the Ninth International Conference which was held on May 4, 2014 within the framework of the Games.
Delegations of countries arrived to the Games took part in the official opening ceremony, competitions in 17 nominations of folk, classical and contemporary art, the international conference, the official closing ceremony and the gala-concert.
The official opening and closing ceremonies of the Games were broadcasted live by GTRK Volgograd TRV and Pervy Volgogradsky TV channels. The Internet-television DELPHIC TV (www.delphic.tv) webcasted live from all events of the Games. For the first time the Internet-radio DELPHIC FM (www.delphic.fm) was introduced during the public events.
